A stackable mono-bloc stool, that is made from recycled PET.
It is soft, comfortable and versatile with no hard edges or loose parts. This lightweight stool has the additional advantage of making no noise or scratches when pulled across the floor.
TORI is a concept for a 3D printed bike helmet. Instead of using foam a complex structure of inner torus surfaces connects inner and outer shell. Additive manufacturing makes it possible to personalize the helmet to its users head measurements to fit perfectly and all constructive details can be applied to its structure. After removing the straps Tori helmet can be fully recycled.
Muscle atrophy often occurs with old age, what makes everyday life less manageable. Most of the time, objects are designed for able and healthy bodies and become obstacles for the older generation. The special ergonomic features of this chair provide a relief in handling, as well as a healthy body position. Erpel was the result of my Bachelor thesis.
CASTOR is a chair based on a saddle-like seat. This form allows a lot of movement and provides dynamic sitting. The thin backrest is firm enough to lean back on, while it also allows maximum of movement. The agile sitting furniture fits perfectly in modern offices. The first prototype will be published in 2020.
Matthias Gschwendtner is a designer based in Berlin. He has a bachelor degree in industrial design at OTH Regensburg. At the moment he is enrolled in UdKs masters program in product design. Besides he is working for various design studios in Berlin.
