Soft Bodies is an ongoing collaboration with Berlin Glas e.V. and tries to capture the act of touching a soft body. To shape the hot glas I developed and forged a special set of tools inspired by blacksmith pliers. By pinching the still malleable balloon of glas the inner surface stick together. When blowing it up again the object molds itself into a soft organic shape and creates a unique piece that is always different in its details. By adding attatchments to the pliers different forms can be achieved. When pinching the glas offcentered with an elongated tip an additional volume seperates and creates a handle for a jug. A sprout is later formed by hand. When it is filled with water, it creates a lens like effect and plays with its surroundings. The jug was designed together with Shantala Chandel.
